Packing trays' materials are 60% recycled
Materials used in packaging trays are over 60% recycled materials and highlights a company's individual commitment to recycling and the environment.
Following the recent and successful prosecution of a thermoformed plastics packaging manufacturer found guilty of deliberately flouting regulations introduced to protect the environment it will come as no surprise to learn that some companies are 'ahead of the pack' when it comes to conscience and responsibilities.
For them the environmental good practice is more a way of working than a tiresome mandatory obligation.
Packaging manufacturers have significant responsibilities where waste by-products from their production could generate considerable impact on their surroundings.
Sharpak's dedication and commitment to a clean environment is recognized throughout the Industry.
Now, their SP trays manufactured in R-Apet contain over 60% recycled materials.
These are examples where Sharpak's absolute commitment to the environment and the reason why Sharpak has become the first choice for retailers addressing the environmental concerns of their customers.
Further, Sharpak are addressing retailer and consumer concerns by taking the unprecedented step in engraving the underside of their trays with the wording: Can be recycled where facilities exists' and 'Contains Recycled Materials'.
Clear proof, if proof was required, that their carbon footprint lessens with each technological advancement created in the Company's laboratories.
The Packaging Regulations came into force on the 6th March 1997 encouraging companies that handle packaging to reduce the environmental impact of packaging and packaging waste.
The regulations achieve this by placing obligations on companies to meet recycling and recovery targets for packaging waste and encouraging the minimization and reuse of packaging.
All producers of packaging with an annual turnover in excess of GBP2m and handling in excess of 50 tonnes of packaging are bound by this legislation.
Sharpak will continue to lobby tirelessly for a better cleaner environment and a future where all waste will be sensibly and economically recycled.
