In spring 2004, the stamping plant of Mayflower Vehicle Systems in Castle Bromwich/UK launched production on a new ProfiLine hydraulic press line with a total press capacity of 105,000kN The highly flexible and dynamic line is tailored specifically to the needs of auto industry suppliers

The spectrum of parts to be produced by the line ranges from structural elements (B-pillars, reinforcements) to panels (roof, doors, boot and bonnet) to the production of full-body side panels.

A bed surface of 5.0 x 2.5m enables the use of even large-scale dies.

The five-stage press line consists of a lead press with a capacity of 25,000kN and four follow-on presses with capacities of 20,000kN each.

The lead press is equipped with a regulated six-point bed cushion, while all follow-on presses feature pneumatic slide cushions and cutting impact dampers/stroke limiters.

The blank loader separates and destacks steel and aluminum blanks fully automatically.

The blanks are then washed, oiled and fed into the first forming stage with the aid of an optical centering station, which controls the blank-feeding process via an image processing system.

The workpieces are transported between the presses by automated feeders.

High part-quality is guaranteed by the line's dynamic cylinder selection feature, which allows the manufacturer to increase force as required during the drawing process.
