Profitrans AT3 boosts car-part supplier's output

A Schuler Systems product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 3, 2009

Schuler has modernised a 10-year-old press for a US car-part supplier and added a modular electronic tri-axis transfer.

This has enhanced the reliability and precision of the line, reducing downtime and boosting productivity.

For example, cycle times for numerous parts have been shortened by 10-40 per cent.

The company was looking for ways to raise output on its ten-year-old press.

After 28-million strokes, it was time to replace the existing transfer system.

Schuler's Profitrans AT3 transfer, which is equipped with a direct drive unit and robust steel transfer rails, offers flexibility and high speed with minimal deflection.

The refit was completed quickly, thanks to fast delivery and a modular concept allowing fast installation and trouble-free press integration.

The customer has been successfully producing on the modernised line since January 2009 and is so satisfied that it has ordered a further press retrofit.
