Hermetically sealed transformers giving reduced maintenance operation have been added to the Merlin Gerin Fast Trans range and can be delivered to site only six weeks from order.

Hermetically sealed transformers giving reduced maintenance operation have been added to the Merlin Gerin Fast Trans range, which guarantees that a sealed transformer can be delivered to site only six working weeks from the initial order Immediate delivery can even be achieved for popular transformer ratings, which are often held in stock

Once installed, the Hermetically Sealed Fast Trans transformer will operate without further attention required to its fluid, making it ideal for petrochemical complexes, water plants and sewage treatment works, as well as many other industrial applications.

Maintenance-free operation is achieved by using corrugated tanks for cooling, which expand and contract with changes in internal pressure.

This allows the transformer to be fully filled with a mineral oil coolant, or a high fire point fluid, eliminating the air space above it.

This prevents oxidation and sludging of the coolant, removing the need for any maintenance.

Because the transformer unit is sealed from the surrounding environment, it can cope with harsh operating conditions, such as petrochemical plants or in the water treatment industry.

The transformer is equally suitable for use in many other applications where the reduced maintenance feature can provide cost savings to yearly operational expenditure.

Hermetically Sealed Fast Trans transformers are available in ratings of 315kVA, 500kVA, 800kVA and 1000kVA, all with a no load voltage ratio of 11000/433V.

The range includes a wide selection of Schneider Electric switchgear and feeder pillar options, all of which are mounted directly onto the transformer flange to give a highly integrated layout and a compact design.

By increasing the available space on the LV side of the transformer, a large cabinet or feeder pillar up to 1 metre in width can be directly mounted onto the transformer.

Similarly, by increasing the HV side space, a Ring Main Unit can be directly mounted onto the transformer.

Thus, a very compact substation can be delivered in one unit, with no need for on site assembly.

The transformer can be supplied with termination boxes, Ringmaster MV switchgear, Low Voltage Distribution Cabinets or Feeder Pillars.

Transformers with MV or LV switchgear have a guaranteed eight working week delivery.

With a complete system available from a single supplier, specification work is easier and all components are guaranteed to work together.

The complete unit is delivered direct to the site for immediate installation, reducing the need for on site assembly and reducing installation work and costs.
