The newly developed W140 from Erwin Sick is a complete family of photoelectric switches in miniature housings offering, above all, giant ranges.

The newly developed W140 is a complete family of photoelectric switches in miniature housings offering, above all, giant ranges Improved technologies and reduced costs offer new opportunities

The W140 displays device properties that have up to now only been achieved in larger photoelectric switch housings.

All W140 devices share the same system data regarding features such as handling, power supply, interface, mounting technology, etc.

Mains adapter, evaluation electronics, output amplifier and sensitivity adjustment are, of course, integrated.

The complete W140 family of photoelectric switches: Through-beam photoelectric switches: range 15m.

Rational accessories achieve further solutions.

Thus, slotted masks allow the detection of very small or thin objects.

Polarising filter attachments eliminate mutual interference effects.

Reflex photoelectric switches with polarising filter: range 6 m; for reliable detection of even highly reflective objects.

Energetic photoelectric proximity switches: range 900 mm; for standard scanning tasks.

Photoelectric proximity switches with adjustable range and background suppression: ranges up to 500mm can be set, for reliable operation with otherwise interfering background effects.

Fully integrated W140 electronics with parameters comparable to the "big" ones.

Power supply 10 - 30 V DC.

Switching output Q can be loaded up to 100 mA, with either PNP or NPN technology.

LIGHT/DARK switching modes in one device.

Short-circuit protection, reverse-polarity protection, adjustment elements that cannot be overwound, etc.

Comfortable W140 details simplify handling during mounting, commissioning and maintenance.

Page 1 All variants operate with visible red transmitter light - making, for example, commissioning much easier.

Connection cable or device plug may be either 3-pin M8 or 4-pin M8.

The special plug variant 3-pin M8 provides an extremely easy solution for increasingly common island technologies.

Regardless of whether a distribution box for plug modules or a Bus system: W140 plug and play; reasonably priced, rational and simple.

2 optional mounting brackets provide easy mounting - even in tight spaces - Apart from general detection tasks the W140 units are particularly suitable when long ranges are required; for the detection of the smallest of objects; or for detecting objects against a difficult background.

They are ideal for handling greater demands caused by: lack of space, weight considerations, plant design, plug and mounting technologies, etc.

Not least for reasons of price is the W140 family of photoelectric switches of particular interest in storage and conveyor technology, the semi-conductor industry, electronic assembly, packaging technologies, handling and mounting systems and special machine construction.

The W140 will open up new areas of use for miniature photoelectric switches in storage and conveyor technology in particular.
