Solenoids added to process control electronics
Synectic Design has announced a new link with a specialist UK solenoid valve manufacturer.
This unit is mainly useful for industrial manufacturing applications.
The SY033 can be supplied to display any number of digits, the maximum case length is 3 metres (this could be extended for special applications).
The units are available in two digit heights, 57mm or 100mm.

Weighing batch control systems
Synectic Design Solutions is the bespoke design service offered by Synectic Design, and are industry leaders in weighing batch control systems.
The units can be linked to any of our other instruments; we can even make it connect to other manufacturers instruments too.
The SY033 can also connect to PLCs to display a programmed readout.
It is most commonly used as a remote display for our range of batch controllers.
We recommend linking it to our SY036 for a low-cost weight indicator with remote display, ideal for process manufacturing applications.
The display can be used to indicate numerous readings including: temperature, weight, voltage, counts and rates; i.e production rate.
The counter can be setup to count in either ones or halves depending on the specific function.
The output from one of the units can be echoed if required to another display in another location within the factory, there is no limit to the number of time the signal if echoed if the situation requires such a function.
The SY033 has previously been used by Bass Brewery to count the number of barrels passing along a production line, using an infra-red detector.
Simmer's Biscuits have used an SY033 to count the number of batches of biscuit mix produced per day; i.e a rate indicator, a previous variation on this theme has measured to speed of the production line using a tachometer to give a speed in metres per minute.
It has also been used as a remote indicator for lorry drivers to see the weight of their tank's contents.
Input to the SY033 is generally via proximity sensors, infra-red beam sensors or optionally via RS232 data connection.
For counter applications, input is via open collector, volt-free contactor or TTL pulse.
A variety of other connectors can be used depending on the application.
If the SY033 is used in conjunction with one of our measuring unit, no initial set-up is required; it simply acts as a remote display through the RS232 connection.
Options available with the SY033 include: RS232 data connection, last count recall, key operated reset, temperature display feature in degrees C or F or a complete weight indicator system when combined with a SY036 digital bridge amplifier.
