Synectic Design has announced a new link with a specialist UK solenoid valve manufacturer.
The SY034 is a compact, self-contained unit which is one of our simplest to use products, as it uses a USB interface.
The unit can link up to load cells, strain gauges or pressure transducers and provide the excitation required from the USB connection.
The SY034 works by initially providing the excitation voltage, then receiving the resultant signal, digitising it and then sending it to the computer it is connected to.
The SY034 is suitable for applications that require accuracy as it has a resolution of 24bit for its analogue to digital conversion.
This resolution is greater than that of our competition in the USB digital amplifier market.
The SY034 is a development of our popular SY016, which has previously been used for various forms of research and development, included spring research where there is obviously the need for extremely fast data measurement and collection, as well as accurate distinction between measurements.
Configuration and data retrieval are possible via LabVIEW, hyper terminal or Data Master software.
The product comes with a driver included, along with a tutorial for communication with the computer.
The benefit of the included driver and the available communication methods is that the unit uses non-proprietary software, therefore the user is not restricted and you can use whichever software the wish.
Generally our competitors in this market only use proprietary software, generally causing a variety of problems as conflicts occur.
Connection to the SY034 is via standard screw down terminal blocks and the unit is packaged in a neat protective casing.
A USB cable is also provided so that the unit is complete and ready to use straight out of the box.
This current version provides single channel functionality, but a future model is planned for a dual channel version.
