Synectic Design has announced a new link with a specialist UK solenoid valve manufacturer.
Further data logging products will be launched within the next six months.
The SY010 has initially been designed to be used with Synectic Design batch and flow controllers: SY005, SY015, SY015W and the SY017, and we have plans to adapt the unit to work with other similar controllers.
Previously our batch and flow controllers performed all of their logging functions internally.
This then required a serial connection to a laptop or PC to retrieve the data.
Many of our customers have found this awkward; therefore we developed this external logging unit.
The controllers operate to exactly as they used to, except the downloading of data is now much simpler.
The SY010 uses a 4-pin connector to attach to the batch or flow controller unit, this provides the link for the data from the controller to the logger unit and the power to run it.
The unit is housed in a small matchbox sized ABS case.
The SY010 unit can be located anywhere within the casing that holds the controller, or if necessary a DIN rail adaptor is available.
The SY010 has a large memory capacity, with space to store 4,000 transitions, including details of: start and finish time, batching targets and actual batching quantities, alarms, material details etc To download the data the 4-pin connector is simply disconnected when the controller is not in use and taken to a PC or laptop to which is connected via a mini USB cable (supplied).
The unit has simple plug and play functionality; it also comes with Windows based front end software to make the downloading of data simple.
If you want the controller to continue operating while you download your data, a second data logger module can be connected.
As the SY010 is so cheap this is an easy method of maintaining productivity and allowing excellent access to data.
