Strip is one of Sandvik Materials Technology's five product areas and specialises in precision strip steel for the manufacture of, for example, razor blades, knives, compressor valves, shock absorbers, springs, woodband saws and diemaking rules.
It is produced in a range of steel grades and offers excellent material properties in terms of strength, corrosion resistance, workability and suitability for use at high temperatures.
High volumes of the world's leading brand razor blades are produced from Sandvik strip steel and the company is a major supplier to the automotive and electronics industries.
The other product areas are Tube, Wire, Kanthal resistance materials and Process Systems.
Says Einarsson, "One of the key challenges for us within our strip business is to increase value to our customers and ultimately to their customers".
"By sharing knowledge and promoting a common understanding of the value chain, we can use our materials development and manufacturing skills to supply strip products tailored precisely to the end use.
I would like to see us create a win-win situation for everyone within the chain - Sandvik, our customers and their customers.".
