Upturn in airblast cooling demand
forecast
Reporting a recent upturn in its airblast cooler sales, an injection moulding machine supplier says that airblast coolers are increasingly being used in place of the traditional cooling towers.
Sandretto UK reports a recent upturn in its airblast cooler sales Standard practice at the Rugby-based supplier of injection moulding and plastics ancillary equipment is to carry out a survey of its customer plants in order to ensure that there is sufficient cooling capacity before the hot summer months arrive

Mould temperature controllers heat up quickly
Easy-to-maintain mould temperature controllers have fast and accurate heat-up time and can accurately maintain programmed temperatures.
The current signs are that plastics processors are preparing for future business: 'Airblast coolers,' notes Sandretto UK National Sales Manager, Ancillaries, Chris Whitlam, 'are increasingly being used in place of the traditional cooling towers.
The principal advantage is their closed loop system.
They do not require the level of cooling treatment and checks that water towers require.' Another added benefit with airblast coolers is the low risk of the production system becoming contaminated.
A closed loop air-based system minimises the chance of heat exchangers becoming blocked or scaled and therefore less effective.
Sandretto UK's Airblast machines have the following characteristics: * Control operation; failure monitoring, protect against blind alarms, general function control.
* Optimisation of energy consumption with a high ratio between capacity and consumption.
* Remote control.
For mould temperature control in plastics processing, Sandretto UK offers both water and oil based temperature controllers.
'We understand the need to to look at both heating and cooling sides of the controller - necessary to maintain mould temperature,' says Whitlam.
The company's range of water temperature controllers has been designed to offer accurate temperature control thanks to the innovative design of the heating and cooling system.
The water heaters range from 3 to 24kW as standard with higher heating capacities made to order.
All the units are available with direct or indirect cooling the indirect cooling capacities ranging from 15,000k/cal - 135,000k/cal.
Alongside its core business in injection moulding machines, Sandretto UK employs process engineers and also experts in electronics and software in order to give its customers a complete package in machines, ancillaries and tool service.
