The machine configuration can be equipped with either a hydraulic motor or electric motor to drive the screw.
The electric motor used with these injectors allows the moulder to obtain high torques best fitted for high viscosity materials, e.g PVC, PC, PMMA, but also high rotation speeds with a reduced torque (and reduced installed power) for materials such as polyolefins.
The barrel change is also made easier because of the fast releasing of the screw and the rotation of the entire injecton unit.
The operator interface on the new Mega H uses a touch screen display with high resolution graphics.
The control console features include an Ethernet connection for interfacing with data supervision systems and the remote diagnostics facility Three component moulding - Multi Sandretto is showing the latest version of the company's Multi shot machine - an innovative design that allows three positions for the placing of further injection units.
'The automotive market is important market for us,' notes O'Reilly, 'and our Sandretto Series Multi 220/860 + 185 machine - complete a Windsor PlugXPress unit will be demonstarting a three componant moulding in-mould assembled automotive component.
The additional unit can be placed either horizontaly, vertically or in the so called piggy back position, where it is inclined over the main injection unit.
The plasticizing screws are driven by radial piston, hydraulic, fixed displacement motors and the injectors can be rotated to ease maintenance tasks, equipped with a quick strip down system, allowing disconnection of all electric connections.The machine is connected to the injection units via a CAN-Bus system.
The sizes of the multi machine ranges from 130 to 485 tonnes locking force.
