Operations manager Caraline Robinson says that: "We are seeing increased promotion and expansion of our Flymo brand through a number of effective consumer media campaigns in the UK and on the Continent".
"Business is very seasonal for these outdoor products and at this point in the year we are also seeing increasing demand from external customers." "Several companies quoted," said Robinson, "But the decision to go with Sandretto UK ultimately came down to delivery.

Ongoing investment in niche moulding brings growth
Choosing to work in niche market sectors where its 'can-do' mould design and innovation talents are best appreciated, container moulder continues to invest in modern injection moulding machines.
Injection moulding supplied as turnkey system
The effective production of white goods demands leading-edge design, high output, and reduction of processing costs, and the choice of injection moulding machine is critical.
Moulders enable quality and quick response
Explaining why a make of injection moulder is favoured, a subcontractor included the size of platens, reliability, easy adjustment, the T-slot mould arrangements and the fit with Euromap protocols.
Timescales were tight on this particular project and a promise to meet the deadline - along with our twenty years of experience of Sandretto equipment, support and service - led us to choosing Sandretto machines over the competition." Robinson said that the Newton Aycliffe trade moulding activity for external customers covers a wide variety of needs and sectors: "Our main success has been in automotive work, but we also help companies who need support in tool development and others who have short term capacity problems.
Our longer-term client base is growing and we have a growing number of tools which we run year after year - not least because we are committed to offering capacity to external customers for 12 months of the year.
Needless to say, we require our injection moulding machines to provide the needed reliability and dependability." In terms of mainstream Flymo business, 2005-6 has seen a welter of innovation and new product development.
Newly introduced to the market is the Pac a Mow lawnmower that easily unpacks from and packs back into its own grass box.
It fills a unique spot in the marketplace and has been aimed at buyers with limited storage space.
This year also saw the company's Automower production also transferred to Newton Aycliffe for 2006 production from Husqvarna Sweden.
Working within boundary wire containment this automatic lawnmower has a random cutting pattern which ensures that the entire lawn is maintained.
The Automower continuously cuts a tiny amount of grass leaving the cuttings as it goes.
The mower also detects when its battery charge is low, and automatically finds and docks at its charger to recharge itself.
The Flymo brand has been built on innovation and product features such as the 'Vision' grassbox collection window and the 'Easi-Reel' cable storage feature.
The company is increasingly making use of television advertising to promote these features and grow sales.
Flymo currently has approximately 50% of the UK powered lawnmower market and now intends to vigorous growth through Europe.
TV advertising began in France in 2006 to promote the Flymo brand and make further inroads into the market.
New Flymo products at Aycliffe were partly responsible for the need for the new Sandretto machines.
And in terms of future machinery, plant and further investment, Robinson noted that: "Sandretto has some very interesting new product developments which we are keen to evaluate." Current moulding machine sizes on the Husqvarna UK shop floor range from 75T - 1000T with 53 machines in total.
Manufacturing processes include: injection moulding; tube bending; plastics and powder coating and final assembly work.
Materials processed include ABS, PC, PP, Nylon and glass filled nylons.
As well as component moulding, services to Husqvarna UK external customers include: product design, rapid prototyping, tooling procurement, commissioning, development and repair.
Husqvarna UK is an ISO 9001 site with lot traceability.
During peak production the site processes 200 tonnes of polymer a week, with 180,000 components made daily.
