To be demonstrated at Productivity Partnerships 2004 will be remote monitoring by remote data link technology of a production cell involving two VMCs with robotic loading.

Management software specialist Seiki Systems of Brighton is to demonstrate remote monitoring of a production cell involving 600 Centre's two Fanuc Alpha vertical machining centres with robotic loading using its Remote Data Link (RDL) technology This will not only provide a wireless communication link for CNC program management but enable 'real time' production data acquisition and machine utilisation to be depicted with automatic alarm generation at Productivity Partnerships 2004

Using a dedicated Seiki Systems RDL terminal fitted to each machine connected via RS 232 interface to the machine control, data will be transmitted using wireless technology between a remote PC where CNC program management using Seiki Systems Networked DNC will be performed.

Data will also be collected from in-cycle component probing for SPC analysis and machine utilisation analysis carried out with trend curves and report generation following real time production monitoring.

As part of the Seiki Systems software solutions package, the company will also be demonstrating its paperless order management system for small to medium sized manufacturing companies.

JobDISPO ERP is able to support the entire order management process from quotation to dispatch including stock management, purchasing and final costing and enables real-time scheduling to be performed and provide optimised production lead times and machine utilisation.

Some 20 of the UK's leading suppliers of machine tools and robotics, software, inspection, workholding, tooling and control systems will be involved with Productivity Partnerships 2004 to be staged at the 600 Centre at Shepshed, Loughborough between 19 and 21 October.
