Sealed Air, with over 50 years experience in the field, met with DHL and explored the possible solutions.
DHL were advised that two types of shrink films were required and one high-speed shrink-wrapping machine.
For the phone boxes, DHL purchased Sealed Air's Cryovac D-940 soft shrink film which operates at very high speeds.
It requires an exceptionally low shrink force to avoid crushing and distortion of products.
It achieves a clear, glossy finish for optimal display appeal, giving products an additional merchandising advantage.
In addition, it also has excellent trim seal strength and toughness for pack security.
DHL invested in Sealed Air's Cryovac IMPACT multi-purpose shrink film for its range of multipack food items, which delivers strong seals and is puncture resistant.
It stays taut and wrinkle free and will not crack when the temperature is abused, insuring utmost appeal at the point of sale.
Run on variety of equipment, including manual, automatic and form-fill-seal machines, it has unsurpassed optics that guarantees products will shine brightly on store shelves.
Its toughness ensures products will hold up under extreme conditions in production, packaging, shipping, retail stocking and customer handling.
To run the new films, DHL purchased two Combipack HSS 50 TT shrink-wrapping machines, which can handle up to 50 packs/min, from Sealed Air's Italian distributor, Packma.
After the new kit had been installed, Sealed Air provided DHL comprehensive training and a reliable after sales service.
Increased production rates and enhanced pack presentation has helped increase DHL's business and has enabled the company to offer a new packaging solution to its customers.
Since the installation, DHL has been awarded a contract from a major food manufacturing company, which is as a direct result of its new shrink-wrapping capabilities.
South Europe regional sales manager for Sealed Air's Shrink Packaging Division, Gennaro Tonati, commented on the project: "By working closely with Packma, we were able to provide DHL with a total packaging solution. Request a free brochure from Sealed Air ...
