Bradford (UK) Sealed Air is mounting a marketing campaign aimed at persuading UK food and beverage companies to follow a lead being set by drinks producers in Scotland.

Sealed Air said it has been achieving growing success in the drinks field - notably in Scotland - with its range of Mondo and Scaglione case erecting and inserting equipment and it is now eager to build on that success in the rest of the UK, where many companies are claimed to be keen to introduce more automated end of line equipment.

The Mondo range is claimed to be able to deal with many other products as well as drinks.

The company said that the process of packing bottles in to cases and inserting safety dividers is the same whatever the bottles contain.

Whisky or soft drinks, water, wine or detergent - they are all liquids, added Sealed Air.

Equipment offered by Sealed Air includes case and tray erectors, case sealers, case packers, palletisers, case overturners and pallet stretchwrappers.

Sealed Air operations manager, Colin Lovering, said: ''We have seen a great deal of interest in the Mondo and Scaglione range, particularly north of the border where distillers like Morrison Bowmore and leading contract packer Drampac, have all bought machines and we know that there are other UK markets that would particularly benefit from this technology.
