Packaging film uses less material

Packaging film has been designed to cutting costs by using less material, and lessen the impact of disposal on the environment while improving product presentation.

Sealed Air's Shrink Packaging Business Unit has launched a revolutionary packaging film on to the European market to cut costs by using less material The product will also lessen the impact of disposal on the environment while improving product presentation

The latest addition to the family of Cryovac performance shrink films, is the D955 11 microns, a film which, while a mere 11 micron thick, provides the strength and protection properties of films two, three and even four micron thicker, said Sealed Air.

It is this deceptive strength, which is likely to prove a 'winner' with companies in a wide range of packaging sectors.

The claim is that there is only one other 11 micron shrink film currently on the European market and tests have shown it does not match the strength of the Cryovac when used for packaging CDs and DVDs through stationery, toys and games, art boards, office supplies and computer software as well as delicate items like jewellery.

But while out-performing the opposition, the D955 does not compromise on either presentation, said Sealed Air to manufacturingtalk.com.

The film is ideal for promoting products which need superior shelf appeal or optical performance.

It is so much like a 'second skin' that at times you can hardly tell it is there, said Sealed Air.

It gives consumers the perfect view of product rather than packaging.

Sealed Air has developed the D955 in response to calls for a superior shrink film which, while providing the ideal packaging solution, is also cost effective and environmentally friendly. Request a free brochure from Sealed Air ...
