Optical distance sensors come out on top
Sensopart has launched the new F90 series of high performance optical distance measuring laser sensors with optimum resolution and very attractive costs, said to open up many more applications.
Reflections of mirroring surfaces are effectively suppressed by the polarisation filter fitted to the sensor window.
It has been specifically designed for applications in bottle detection in bottling plants, ampullas detection in the pharmaceutical industry and sensing of transparent foils in the food industry.
Measuring just 32 x 20 x 12mm, the compact FR20 RG1 sensor fits easily into restricted spaces.
It has a working distance of 5 to 500mm and is temperature compensated to ensure reliable switching throughout the entire temperature range of -20 deg C to +60 deg C.
It uses red light 660nm pulsed and its contacts are selectable as 'normally open' or 'normally closed', with small hysteresis over the switching cycle.
It can be configured easily and conveniently per Teach-in.
Robustly constructed in ABS material and offering protection to IP67, the FR20 is available with a choice of connector or cable fittings.
