Sewtec Automation has designed and manufactured a twin magazine tray denester for a 'ready meals' application

Sewtec Automation has designed and manufactured a twin magazine Tray Denester for a 'ready meals' application, reinforcing its position as a complete solution provider and adding to its range of fully automated products for the food industry The machine was originally developed for a specific application, which required two denesters as part of a ready-made meal, automatic tray filling project

The machines were to be used in a damp, cold environment which required a well engineered stainless steel construction.

Sewtec, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, had scoured the market for a suitable tray denester to complement the design of a Lasagne tray-filling line, being designed for a major customer.

Finding that there was no suitable product on the UK market that was suitable for the environment and the requirements of the proposed application, Sewtec decided to design and build its own.

The Sewtec twin magazine Tray Denester is, a low maintenance, hygienically designed machine, manufactured in anodised aluminium or optional stainless steel.

Supplied as a standard 'off the peg' machine or built to special order, the Tray Denester is manufactured to withstand the harshest environments in food processing and incorporates full IP65 environmental protection.

Features include: quick release pre-set magazines for rapid and simple tray size change; stand alone or integrated control; central or integrated vacuum; and portable or fixed design.

Maximum tray size is 200mm x 350mm (single deposit) and 150mm x 200mm (double deposit), and the product can denest up to 60 trays per minute.

Air consumption is low at 0.48L per cycle.

Sewtec applications engineer Steve Levitt comments: "The demands of the Lasagne tray-filling application were such that we were compelled to develop a denester of our own design that could withstand the rigours of an aggressive environment".

"The subsequent design met all the requirements of the application and was such a success that we have developed it into a stand alone product in its own right that fills a niche position in the automated food processing marketplace." Priding itself on being a 'complete solution provider', Sewtec Automation, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, is a leading specialist machine builder and project engineering company, with a wealth of experience designing and manufacturing special purpose automated solutions, working predominantly in the food process, packaging, tobacco and pharmaceutical industries.
