Job management system designed for SME usage

A Sescoi product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Aug 7, 2006

Job management system is designed for SME manufacturers to overcome difficulties of implementing complex job management systems by using the software productively from 'day one'.

Sescoi will be showing its WorkNC Version 18 CAM/CAD software, and holding the official launch of its MyWorkPLAN job management system, in Booth D-3015 at IMTS.

Designed for small and medium sized custom manufacturers, MyWorkPLAN overcomes the difficulties associated with the implementation of complex job management systems as companies can use the software productively from 'day one'.

Shop managers need to know the production and cost status of their projects to help them make the best decisions.

MyWorkPLAN brings together all the information relating to a project by integrating with the customer's existing software, such as Word, Excel, and CAD systems, displaying it in an easy to understand tree structure which quickly builds into a powerful knowledge base.

The software enables the creation of quotations and the real time management of time and resources, and includes a tutorial package for rapid training and implementation without the overhead associated with complex systems.

By helping companies to re-utilise information from previous jobs and keeping track of current production with minimal administrative effort, MyWorkPLAN will have a direct impact on winning and delivering profitable business.

Version 18 of WorkNC includes a raft of enhancements for roughing and 5-axis machining.

Adaptive Trochoidal Roughing has been introduced for machining and re-roughing hard materials.

This toolpath reduces cutting forces and avoids shock loading of the tool by adding trochoidal movements whenever high load conditions of the cutter are detected.

Sescoi's popular High Torque Re-Roughing has also been rewritten to favour spiral movements and climb milling wherever possible.

Additionally, corner loops have been replaced by deformed radii, enhancing the changes in Version 18 which will reduce the number of retracts, produce faster cycle times, and improve cutting conditions.

Version 18 introduces the concept of the Dynamic Stock Model.

With this, WorkNC knows at all times not only the part data, but also the condition of the material remaining at all times, while calculating cutterpaths.

This allows for the highest efficiency and the utmost safety, of not only the tool but also the tool holder.

WorkNC's unique Auto 5 module, which automatically transforms 3-axis toolpaths into 5-axis toolpaths, has been further improved, with new sensitivity parameters to make the cutterpath even smoother.

Version 18 has cycles for blade machining, controlling the 4th axis to keep the tool normal to the job, and a new 5-axis routine for impeller machining.

All the 5-axis cycles consider the machine tool kinematics, avoiding collisions and introducing flip movements when travel limits have been reached.

Visitors to Sescoi's booth will be able to see how WorkNC Version 18 will enable users to safely take full advantage of the benefits of 5-axis machining, achieve faster 3-axis machining, and improve profitability by controlling costs and production more efficiently with the new MyWorkPLAN software.
