Latest automated CAD/CAM goes on show

Sescoi will be previewing WorkNC G3, the third generation of its WorkNC automated CAM/CAD system, and Version 2 of MyWorkPLAN, its easy to use job management system for SMEs in Paris.

Sescoi will be bringing a whole raft of new concepts to the MICAD 2006 exhibition at Paris's Villepinte exhibition centre between 5th and 8th December.

It will be previewing WorkNC G3, the third generation of its WorkNC automated CAM/CAD system, and Version 2 of MyWorkPLAN, its easy to use job management system for SMEs.

Both software packages are scheduled for release in the first half of 2007.

WorkNC G3 brings all the previous interfaces together into one, allowing geometry, analysis, machining, and verification to be carried out in the same environment.

The ergonomic advantages of G3 include greater flexibility, improved interaction with the model and the machining processes, and faster programming.

WorkNC G3 also features a number of new toolpaths, including optimized machining of flat areas, optimized retracts and intelligent lead-ins to avoid marking the part, a faster collision check module and new 5-axis toolpaths for application specific machining.

MyWorkPLAN Version 2 sees enhancements in its ability to manage quotations, production and costs, bringing simple cost effective job management within the reach of every SME in the general mechanical industry, helping them to operate more profitably.

Additionally, Sescoi will be demonstrating an advanced automated manufacturing concept, developed in partnership with Zwicker Systems.

WINSTAT from Zwicker Systems organises NC programs for the CNC machines and collects production data from the machine tools using innovative transponder chip technology.

This system is linked to Sescoi's WorkPLAN ERP system to collate and analyse production data and to WorkNC to source the required CNC programs.

This combination results in an error free, automatic paperless environment where managers can continuously monitor performance indicators.
