The ProfilerLDA is an isocratic LC that is dedicated to the measurement of lipophilicity (log P/D).
The instrument is currently available for the measurement of partitioning into Octanol, one of the major partitioning media for the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.
This measurement has shown itself to be an invaluable tool for researchers studying how novel drug substances may interact with proteins and tissues in the body.
The ProfilerLDA brings together all the best aspects of a chromatographic assay, accuracy, reliability and performance.
This is coupled with a simple to use 'expert' instrument control and data interrogation refinement package.
Minimising the need for highly trained chromatographers to operate the system.
It achieves this by novel use of a coated proprietary stationary phase in both 1cm and 25cm format.
The ProfilerLDA has in-built hardware and house keeping routines that maximize the life times of these columns and allow in excess of 600 measurements to be performed, making it distinct from other LC systems.
Inclusion of predicted lipophilicity values in the "sample set up procedure" allows the automated exclusion of compounds that fall out side the working ranges of these columns.
Current validation shows the measurable range covered to be from -1 to 5.
The pump technology is provided by Gilson, the valves systems by Rheodyne, all contained in an integrated automated robotic platform to provide the only turnkey solution for high throughput partitioning measurements.
The new ProfilerLDA Fully automated LogD determination Multi-wavelength spectrophotometric analysis technique Automated data handling and processing Micro plate format (96) (384) and vials accommodated Performance monitoring Remote network monitoring The ProfilerLDA is a fully automated system unique among LC instrumentation.
Its focus on lipophilicity measurements into octanol means it is destined to become the benchmark for a fast, accurate and reliable method for Log D determination.
