SGS International has announced that it has completed two European acquisitions

Continuing to build its market share as the "Design2Print" partner of choice for the world's most powerful brands, SGS International today announced that it has completed two European acquisitions: The Box Room., an artwork and project management services company based in Tamworth and the packaging division of Lukkien Foto and Design B.V., a Netherlands-based media and advertising services company Both companies will operate under the SGS brand and be led by the company's global management team

The deals are part of SGS International's overall strategy to make acquisitions that enhance growth and extend capabilities for European and global clients.

Additionally, they will give the company access to new customers, and help achieve its goal of providing fully integrated project management services, supported by state-of-the art technology and operations systems.

With these additions, SGS International-a portfolio company of Court Square Capital Partners (formerly Citigroup Venture Capital)-will have a physical presence in six European locations, allowing the company to service clients across the continent more efficiently.

"The addition of The Box Room and Lukkien's packaging division to our existing European operations will provide a dynamic platform for further pan-European expansion," commented Michael L.

Shannon, senior vice president for global operations at SGS International.

"Both companies complement our "Design2Print" approach".

"Just as importantly, they create exciting opportunities to provide added value and innovative services for current and prospective clients." Shannon added that the acquisitions will also allow SGS International to deliver customized and practical solutions - from creative to production - that align with client's business objectives and in-house capabilities, as well as contribute to the company's goal of building a global design supply chain model for consumer products companies.

"We want to use our technical and operational expertise to alleviate the complexities of "Design2Print" so clients can quickly bring ideas to market that drive business success." "We are confident that the global reach and customer base of SGS, together with its specialist know-how in the packaging industry, will stimulate the future growth of the packaging division," commented Marco Fredriksen, executive board member at Lukkien Foto and Design.

"Furthermore, we expect to partner with SGS on packaging projects and on the development of new products and technologies." Fredriksen said the partnership will also provide clients with an expanded service offering via Lukkien's full-service cross-media production warehouse, which includes still photography, audio visual and new media production, creative services, and fulfilment.
