A SGS product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jun 28, 2007

SGS has discussed environmental testing, certification and global standards with German and Chinese officials in Guangzhou, China.

The federal external affairs representative of the Free Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany, Mr Reinhard Stuth met in China with SGS's delegates to the Guangzhou German Chamber of Commerce in Nov 2006.

As SGS offers worldwide inspection, verification, testing and certification services the discussion focused on environmental testing, certification and global standards, social responsibility audit, the new EU/REACH regulation, environmental problems and ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 certification requirements in China.

The meeting was a preparative step for the upcoming 2007 visit of the First Mayor of Hamburg.

He will then have discussions with German and Chinese companies active in the fields of renewable energies, eco-construction and hydrogen-technology with the aim of extending the relationship between the German government and enterprises in China.
