Hazardous substances evaluation working
group
SGS, the certification and testing company, discusses the IECEE's working group tasked with identifying procedures for the product testing and evaluation of Hazardous Substances.
The IECEE has set up a new working group WG 20 tasked with identifying elements and procedures to be used for product testing and evaluation of Hazardous Substances The WG 20 is composed of delegates from Australia, China, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Finland, France, Netherlands and the USA and convened by Mr Jukka Vuorinen, SGS Fimko
The Certification Management Committee agreed that the offering of Hazardous Substances Product Evaluation Services by IECEE would not lead to the issuance of a CB Test Certificate but a test report as part of a horizontal service for the relevant product categories and standards.
If IECEE should eventually offer product evaluation services this could either take the form of a stand-alone service or as a one-stop package service covering both product evaluation and quality management aspects.
