Shear-Form Machine Tools, the Coventry based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier is the sole UK representative for Swiss metalworking equipment manufacturer Jorns AG, who has introduced a new series of bending machines This new series of machines, which are used in the fabrication of guttering, cladding and other long length components, are able to bend lengths of sheet steel and aluminium ranging from 6,000 to 12,000mm in length, with an insertion depth ranging from 1,000mm to 1,250mm.These machines can handle mild steel up to 3.0mm, stainless steel up to 2mm and aluminium up to 4mm in thickness

Coil feeder NC system eliminates feeding loop
An exciting concept in flexible, NC, high speed coil feeding eliminates the need for any feeding loop from the coil so that the feeding line is only 4m long.
Coil feeder for presses also feeds strip
Designed for stamping and drawing press feeding as well as on flexible production lines, a coil feeder offers high accuracy feeding of coil from 210mm - 1550mmm wide and strip feeding.
Four products in the series are available, Norma-line, Maxi-line, Super-line and Multi-line, each with a number of options to suit the fabricator's needs.
Standard features included with the Jorns machines are the 2-speed control, upper cheek load relief, overload protection, bending cylinder with dampening and 'pipe-burst' protection.
All machines in the series can be fitted with a cutting device for cutting 1.5mm - 3mm steel.
All machines have hydraulic or mechanical upper cheek adjustment to compensate for differing sheet thickness, whilst the upper cheek pre-tensioner enables each arm to be moved manually, enabling distortion to be eliminated along the length of the section.
There are three controls available for the series with the basic OP2000 having 2-axis control of the bending angle, the CNC400A is a 4-axis control with LCD screen and a storage capacity of 149 programs.
The top of the range control is the CNC2000 with colour screen working with a Pentium processor.
Machine settings and parameters as well as job programs can be stored on floppy discs.
All job data such as bending angles, stop dimensions, clamping pressures, upper cheek openings, cycle bending as well as auxiliary functions are included in the software.
