QA software ensures fasteners
installation success
Quality Assurance Software option for InsertionLogicT software helps ensure the successful automatic installation of fasteners in fabricated and pressed parts.
Haeger has introduced a new Quality Assurance Software option for the company's InsertionLogicT software, which is available through their sole representative in the UK, Shear-Form Machine Tools Ltd, the Coventry based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier This new option helps ensure the successful installation of fasteners in fabricated and pressed parts and is recommended for use with Haeger's OneTouch and Turret Insertion Systems (TIS), which allow insertion of multiple types and sizes of fastener in a single part handling

Coil feeder NC system eliminates feeding loop
An exciting concept in flexible, NC, high speed coil feeding eliminates the need for any feeding loop from the coil so that the feeding line is only 4m long.
This option comprises three separate components: 1 - Fastener Length Verification which assures that the fastener being inserted is the correct length and can be turned on/off as required.
It is compatible with shuttle style tooling for fasteners such as studs and standoffs.
The length of the fastener is established when the part program is first run.
During the set upstroke the position at which the fastener contacts the lower tool pin is stored in the program memory.
This verification function is so accurate that if the position, where each fastener makes tooling contact differs by +/-0.5mm the control sees the fastener as having the incorrect length.
The fastener is not inserted, the ram returns to the stand by position and an error message appears on the operator's screen.
2 - Fastener Presence Detection verifies that a fastener is present at the tooling at the beginning of and during the insertion stroke.
It is usable with all types of shuttle tooling, nuts, standoffs, studs and special fasteners.
If no fastener is in the jaws or the fastener falls off, the ram returns to its original position before the completion of the stroke.
An error message appears on the operator's screen and he/she is required to take action 3 - Part Completion ensures that the operator has inserted all of the fasteners in a component part is complete.
It then requires the operator to touch his screen before moving on the next part.
This works in harmony with the program for the part and the batch counter built into the InsertionLogicT software.
It can be turned on/off in the 'options' menu as required.
