Shear-Form Machine Tools has reported a successful MACH 2004, with over GBP 60,000 of orders received for Haeger Fastener Insertion Presses since the end of the show.

Shear-Form Machine Tools, the Coventry based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier has reported a successful MACH 2004, with over GBP 60,000 of orders received for Haeger Fastener Insertion Presses since the end of the show These sales include orders for 412 bench mounted presses, 618plus and the heavy duty 824plus presses

Also included in these sales was an order from a general fabricator on Humberside for Haeger's brand new 824 WindowTouch with Turret Insertion System (TIS) supplied as standard and which also included Haeger's new Quality Assurance Software and Insertion Graphics software packages, all of which were demonstrated working on the stand.

The Turret Insertion System (TIS) allows the production of component parts with up to four different types/sizes of fastener in just one single part handling.

The multiple fastener software provides a fully programmable operating system, which allows the storage of numerous job and configuration programs, whilst colour coded fastener storage bins are supplied to aid the operator.

Haeger's InsertionLogicT software has onboard program storage for fastener type/size, force, up travel, dwell, batch counts and tooling part numbers.

Using colour pictorial aids on the PC based touch screen, the operator has easy control and set up of all his production requirements.

Haeger's new Quality Assurance Software option for the company's InsertionLogicT software, helps ensure the successful installation of fasteners in fabricated and pressed parts, allowing insertion of multiple types and sizes of fastener in a single part handling.

This option comprises three separate components: 1.

Fastener Length Verification which assures that the fastener being inserted is the correct length and can be turned on/off as required.

2.

Fastener Presence Detection verifies that a fastener is present at the tooling at the beginning of and during the insertion stroke.

3.

Part Completion ensures that the operator has inserted all of the fasteners in a component part is complete.

Clive Meir, Director, Shear-Form said: "Sales and enquiries leading up to the show for Haeger insertion presses were rather slow, so I am pleased that we attended as there has definitely been a marked upturn in enquiries and the level of business we have achieved.

What has pleased me most is that the majority of the recent sales are a direct result of companies visiting us on the stand.

Also to show a brand new machine on the stand and to sell one so soon after, makes the whole exercise worthwhile.".
