Nine-roll cradle straighteners level thick gauges

Nine-roll cradle straighteners for coiled steel, including aluminium and stainless steel handle much heavier gauge coil than conventional models.

The new BNG range of Dimeco Alipresse 9-roll cradle straighteners for coiled steel, including aluminium and stainless steel, is now available in the UK through Shear-Form Machine Tools, Coventry, UK based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier and the sole UK representative for Dimeco Groupe, the French coil processing equipment manufacturer.

The BNG straighteners are a new design able to handle much heavier gauge coil than conventional models, making them ideal for use in Steel Service Centres and all OEM's, including automotive 'body in white' production, metal furniture, white goods and storage tanks.

Features of these new straighteners are that the number of chromed rolls has been increased to nine mounted in a cradle with manual overlapping adjustment, whilst their diameters have been reduced.

The gauge of material being straightened ranges from 0.4mm - 2.3 mm for the smallest model 1683 and from 0.6mm - 5.0mm or the heavier models, whilst the working width ranges from 500 - 2,000mm wide.

They have been designed for reliability with low maintenance costs, with all the rolls powered through a transmission using splash lubricated pinions, whilst cleaning the head is made easier through a 'crocodile' wide opening.

They can be retrofitted into most existing press feed line including Dimeco's Flexilines and are also available as Dimeco's Micropro straightener/feeder versions to enable retrofitting into short line configurations.

A new optional feature ideal for rear loop layouts, are RCM corrective rollers +/-10mm using a digital position display, for extra high quality coil straightening, regardless of whether the coil is uncoiled from above or under.

Other options include RMA motorised straightening parameter settings using AC motors with the set value displayed digitally and 100mm stroke for easy roll cleaning plus MAR automatic speed control using the feeders PFS system and loop control ultrasonic sensor for pitch length and press rate.

Pneumatic and Hydraulic threading tables are also available.
