Multi-stamping/forming system works from coil

A high productivity, flexible stamping, punching, forming and tapping system can be used to manufacture a wide range of products from coiled coiled steel in various widths and up to 3mm thick.

Shear-Form Machine Tools, Coventry, UK-based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier and the sole UK representative for Dimeco Groupe, the French coil processing equipment manufacturer has received orders for two Dimeco 'Flexipress' fully programmable production lines, valued in excess of EUR 800,000 for use in the manufacture of security mechanism products.

'Flexipress' is a high productivity, flexible stamping, punching, forming and tapping system that can be used to manufacture a wide range of products coiled coiled steel in various widths and up to 3mm thick material.

It comprises a coil fed line, undercrank press and tooling designed to suit individual customers' specifications and required output.

Up to 40 different tools can be used for certain products, with the selection of each tool being managed by Dimeco's Simo-Star controlled feeders using the latest four-colour touch screen, which combines the electronic controls and mechanical options for lines that need feed cutting presses.

Flexipress lines is able to manufacture parts either continuously or with variations to the product specifications without changing tooling.

Simo-Star stores all feed lengths and tool selections for an unlimited number of products.

Clive Meir, director at Shear-Form, said: "Over the last few months, we have been very successful in selling coil processing equipment in what is generally within the industry a quiet period.

In addition to the above lines we have sold a number of coil feeders, including Micro servo roll feeders.

We have also sold uncoilers ranging from 2-3 ton and straighteners including one on a line manufacturing cookers using 1250mm wide x 1.2mm thick stainless steel coil.".
