Bending machines produce long components
Shear-Form Machine Tools is the sole UK representative for Swiss metalworking equipment manufacturer Jorns AG, who has introduced a new series of bending machines.
Coil feeder NC system eliminates feeding loop
An exciting concept in flexible, NC, high speed coil feeding eliminates the need for any feeding loop from the coil so that the feeding line is only 4m long.
It enables the user to make changeovers in around 2 min, without the need for any re-alignment.
Features of new platform include fast and easy change over time between manual and automatic tooling as well as high accuracy and consistency.
These insertion presses are used in precision sheet metal fabrications.
These include vending machines, computer housings, office furniture, heating and ventilation systems and 'white goods' manufacturing.
The WindowTouch-3 is also supplied with Haeger's New Turret Insertion System (TIS-2) , which enables up to four different fasteners to be inserted in a one part handling operation.
The system provides tool position feed back and a positive locking station for 100% alignment of the insertion tools for consistent alignment.
It ensures that the operator is on the correct tool station.
This feedback helps eliminate missing fasteners by preventing the operator from moving to the next fastener until all current fasteners are inserted.
Clive Meir, director at Shear-Form, said: "To improve product quality these systems are a very positive step forward to providing 100% accuracy with insertions every time and fabricators are welcome to our facilities at Coventry to try out their own fabrications for themselves on a newly delivered Haeger 824 WindowTouch-3 with the new Turret Insertion System and multi-shuttle tooling.".
