Designed for standard and made-to-order tooling, tooling platform is designed for standard and made-to-order tooling, providing a quick and easy tool changeover of about 2 min in insertion presses.

Coventry, UK-based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier and sole UK representative for Haeger, USA, Shear-Form Machine Tools, has launched a 'Multi-Shuttle' single tooling platform as standard with Haeger's WindowTouch-3 and OneTouch-3 insertion presses The tooling platform is designed for standard and made-to-order tooling and provides quick and easy tool changeover between nuts, studs and stand-offs

It enables the user to make changeovers in around 2 min, without the need for any re-alignment.

Features of new platform include fast and easy change over time between manual and automatic tooling as well as high accuracy and consistency.

These insertion presses are used in precision sheet metal fabrications.

These include vending machines, computer housings, office furniture, heating and ventilation systems and 'white goods' manufacturing.

The WindowTouch-3 is also supplied with Haeger's New Turret Insertion System (TIS-2) , which enables up to four different fasteners to be inserted in a one part handling operation.

The system provides tool position feed back and a positive locking station for 100% alignment of the insertion tools for consistent alignment.

It ensures that the operator is on the correct tool station.

This feedback helps eliminate missing fasteners by preventing the operator from moving to the next fastener until all current fasteners are inserted.

Clive Meir, director at Shear-Form, said: "To improve product quality these systems are a very positive step forward to providing 100% accuracy with insertions every time and fabricators are welcome to our facilities at Coventry to try out their own fabrications for themselves on a newly delivered Haeger 824 WindowTouch-3 with the new Turret Insertion System and multi-shuttle tooling.".
