Two models are available; the Model 8000 has a very wide, measurement range of 0.008 to 432,000 cc/sq m/day and the Model 8500, suitable for less demanding applications, has a range of 50 to 99,999 cc/sq m/day.

In both models, the analysis is achieved without complex extrapolations providing a unique combination of speed and precision.

The control software, run on any Windows platform, combines a user-friendly interface that automatically guides the operator through the test procedure.

The heart of the Series 8000 instruments is a modular test chamber into which a 100 sq cm sample of the film is placed.

Pure oxygen is fed above the sample and nitrogen below.

Molecules of oxygen, diffusing through the film, are carried by the nitrogen to a precision sensor that directly measures oxygen content for display without complex extrapolation.

The Model 8000 has two test chambers and up to four expansion modules can be fitted to provide up to a total of ten test chambers.

All standard and expansion test chambers use the same oxygen sensor ensuring single calibration accuracy and repeatability.

The Windows software controls all operations from calibration and test chamber purging to temperature and humidity simulation and test results analysis.

Tabbed primary screens, drop down menus and pop-up data fields combined with process automation provide a functional and simple to use operational environment.

Calibration can be by both standard gas and NIST traceable films for film-to-film comparison and data reliability.
