Connecting up safety components to fieldbus
Specialist manufacturer of safety equipment is offering an AS-i safety monitor that allows a wide range of safety components to connect to the AS-i Safety at Work fieldbus system.
These include a battery-operated release to allow spring-to-lock solenoid interlocks to be operated in a power-off or failure condition and an emergency exit release that allows intentional opening of a safety guard from inside in cases where, for example, personnel are trapped in a hazardous area.
Among other innovations are actuators designed for small actuating radii and door handles with an integral open/close button to allow convenient individual guard unlocking.
