Manual covers all solenoid door locking aspects
Machine safety specialist is offering engineers a comprehensive manual covering all aspects of solenoid door locking, including safety standards, typical applications and equipment.
Compared to standard safety switches with mechanical actuators, the BNS-B20 offers a number of significant advantages.
The non-contacting coded magnetic safety sensor is positioned on the door profile and provides an easy to clean, visually attractive solution.
Two latching magnets are also accommodated in the handle to hold the door in the closed state to a maximum of 100N.
By eliminating the need for a mechanical actuator, the BNS-B20 doesn't need precise door alignment to operate effectively; nor is it subjected to mechanical wear, which means it will have a significantly longer service life.
Also, the compact switch doesn't protrude into free space when the guard door is open, eliminating another potential hazard.
Depending on the connected safety control module, the BNS-B20 offers a Control Category 4 rating according to EN 954-1 and class PDF-M (monitoring) according to IEC 60947-5-3.
It is easily mounted on commercially available aluminium profile sections and can be used on hinged and sliding doors that close to the right or left.
