Servo drive and low inertia motor combination
Schneider Electric has revealed its intentions to capture a substantial share of the UK motion marketplace.
Schneider Electric has revealed its intentions to capture a substantial share of the UK motion marketplace.
The company is to unveil a brand new entry-level servo drive and low inertia motor combination to unlock the potential of growth in motion among OEMs.
The aim of the new designs is to address the needs of those manufacturers that previously found the costs of servo motion control too high or the programming too complicated.
This initial launch will be followed by further product, service and solution offers in the first half of 2007.
One of the key features of the new Lexium products will be their simplified programming and installation.
Apart from coming with autotuning and macros, the new motor/drive combination also feature Schneider Electric's technology to create the most open control platform in the market.
With its extensive pedigree in all aspects of automation it was inevitable that Schneider Electric would expand its offer in the motion field.
The new products are designated the Lexium 05 servo drive range from Telemecanique, a brand of Schneider Electric.
Positioned alongside the well established Altivar range of AC inverters, Altistart motor starters, the Modicom, Quantum and Unity PLC offers, Magelis HMIs, sensors, switches, relays and pushbuttons, all within the Telemecanique portfolio, the new Lexium products will complete a total automation and control package.
Also in 2007, Schneider Electric will announce a new way to specify machine control solutions.
As part of the greatly expanded motion offer, the company will present ready made tested and approved solutions for all sorts of machine types - further simplifying their design and use.
