A Schneider Electric product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Feb 5, 2007

The latest Spacial range of wall-mounting stainless steel enclosures from Sarel, a division of Schneider Electric, offers a convenient, versatile and cost-effective solution.

Where equipment must be protected against the effects of aggressive environments, and in applications with demanding hygiene requirements, the latest Spacial range of wall-mounting stainless steel enclosures from Sarel, a division of Schneider Electric, offers a convenient, versatile and cost-effective solution.

With IP66 ingress protection and IK10 resistance to mechanical impact, the enclosures are available in versions fabricated from AISI 304 stainless steel, which is well suited to use in the food and pharmaceutical industries, and from AISI 316 stainless steel, which offers optimum performance in marine and chemical industry applications.

The enclosures are also offered with a choice of polished or microbeaded finishes.

Polished versions provide maximum resistance to corrosion, whereas the microbeaded finish reduces the ability of contaminants to adhere to the surface, allowing easier cleaning, sterilisation and disinfection.

Stainless-steel enclosures in the Spacial range are available in sizes from 300 x 200 x 150mm to 1,200 x 1,000 x 300mm.

All sizes feature a single hinged door with a secure 3mm double-bar locking mechanism.

Since the construction of the enclosures is completely symmetrical, the direction of door opening can be reversed simply by inverting the enclosure.

The enclosures feature monobloc construction which ensures maximum strength and protection integrity.

On versions with a brushed finish, the doors are fitted with a polyurethane seal, while for microbead finish models, neoprene seals are used.

As standard, Spacial stainless-steel enclosures from Sarel have perforated door reinforcement rails on all versions over 600mm high.

These facilitate the fitting of door-mounted equipment.

All sizes have welded studs in the rear of the enclosure for attaching a mounting plate or step slides, and earth studs on both the body and the door.

Available accessories include perforated and plain mounting plates, canopies and fixing lugs for securing the enclosures to a wall.
