Universal tool clamping system ups m/c
performance

An the alternative to conventional ER collet style toolholders offers ease of handling, more reliable tool clamping, vibration dampening and greater true running accuracy.

Schunk introduces a revolutionary new toolholder system to the market as the alternative to conventional ER collet style toolholders Sino-T offers ease of handling, more reliable tool clamping, vibration dampening and greater true running accuracy (3/4 0.005 mm), for optimum cutting performance at an unbeatable price to performance ratio

Sino-T toolholders are based on expansion technology.

The system provides consistent support across the entire clamping zone and operates without pressured oil as the clamping medium.

The chuck is easy to handle and actuate with a C-spanner and achieves a stable and even clamping pressure for high transmissible torques.

The standard version of Sino-T is fine balanced to G6.3 at 15.000 r.p.m.

and therefore protects the machine spindle, as well as the tool's cutting edge, from damage.

Excellent dampening characteristics reduce machining noise and increases smoothness of running.

The result is a high tool lifetime and a superior quality of workpiece surface finish.

Chatter marks, which could appear in some applications with conventional toolholding systems, will not be evident with Sino-T.

The principle of intermediate sleeves, as used on Schunk's Tendo (hydraulic) and Tribos (polygonal clamping) toolholder systems for reduction of the clamping diameters, are also applied to Sino-T.

Several clamping diameters can therefore be clamped with just one toolholder by employing a range of intermediate sleeves.

Since purchasing a range of intermediate sleeves incurs less cost than purchasing a range of individual sizes of expansion chucks, the application of intermediate sleeves further reduces investment costs.

Depending on the application, two types of intermediate sleeves are available, one with slots across the face for peripheral coolant, and one with a closed face for tools with internal through coolant.

Both types of sleeves are available for both nominal toolholder sizes of 20mm and 12mm.

The nominal size 20mm reduces down to 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm or 16mm, and the nominal size 12mm reduces down to 6mm or 8mm.

After use, the intermediate sleeves can be easily extracted from the toolholder with the sleeve extractor SINOmax.

Sino-T toolholders incorporate the facility for +/-0.005 mm precise axial length adjustment of the cutting tools, which assists handling for ease and speed of setting up.

This is a considerable advantage compared to conventional ER collet style toolholders.

Sino-T is currently available with three spindle interfaces : SK40 to DIN 69871 AD/B, MAS-BT40 to JIS B6339 and HSK-A63.

All three spindle interfaces are available in both 20mm and 12mm variants, together with the range of intermediate sleeves as detailed. Request a free brochure from Schunk Intec ...
