Magnetic clamping offered for machining jobs

The finger positions can be sensored by magnetic or inductive proximity switches or by a freely programmable position control system.
When using the FPS position control system, up to five positions per stroke can be monitored.
Each gripper can be ordered in a heat-resistant or corrosion-proof design, but also in combination with a dust cover or with a spring operated pressure plate.

Taking these exciting workholding solutions to new heights, Schunk has extended its portfolio with the new PZV 4-Finger Concentric Gripper - the latest addition to the exceptional product range.
Whilst two and three finger-grippers cater for most industrial handling tasks, 4-finger-grippers are required in instances where cylindrical workpieces are magazined on one level.
Whereas three finger-grippers have at least one finger that would always collide with neighbouring components, the PZV profits in spacious circumstances with its four fingers.
The 4-finger PZV is the ideal gripper module for holding coplanar and cylindrical workpieces at a high positioning accuracy.
Even at other applications, the PZV convinces with its high degree of flexibility.
It can be used as a parallel gripper for clamping with two different pairs of top jaw fingers without problems and without having to set-up the fingers.
As a result the set-up times can be permanently optimised - without interrupting the running operation.
Working with the strong pneumatic pistons, stable wedge hook system and the robust multi-tooth guidance, the PZV ensures outstanding capacity with high gripping forces.
The PZV is available in four sizes of 64, 100, 160, and 200mm - achieving gripping forces from 580N to 7,100N.
With strokes from 4mm to 16mm, it can be used to cover an extensive range of workpieces.
The technical finesse of the PZV is proven in applications of the gripper module, in the PGN-plus and PZN-plus.
The PGN-plus and PZN-plus demonstrate established technology that offer high torque transmission.
