Tool system clamps diameters down to
0.3mm
Clamping system is capable of clamping diameters as small as 0.3mm (0.012in) with h6 shank tolerances and so eliminates the need for special cutting tools with larger tool shanks.
For secure and precise clamping of tools with small shank diameters, Schunk now introduces the Tribos Micro-Mini range A new addition to the Tribos toolholding family; the Micro - Mini is capable of clamping diameters as small as 0.3mm (0.012in) with h6 shank tolerances

'Collet jaw' chucks offer greater versatility
A 'collet jaw' chuck is more universal than either three-jaw chucks or collets and covers a greater diameter range than conventional collets thus increasing flexibility and cost effectiveness.
Zero-point clamping system reduces work resetting
Universal zero-point clamping system that provides accurate and repeatable set-ups of workholding fixtures allows workpieces to be moved through multiple operations with minimum resetting.
Based on the Tribos polygonal clamping technology, the Micro-Mini eliminates the need for special cutting tools with larger tool shanks - significantly reducing set up times and enhancing productivity.
Available as standard in HSK-E sizes of 25, 32 and 40, or as 100mm long x 12mm diameter shank universal tool extensions, the Micro-Mini is the ideal toolholder for extremely accurate applications The clamping principle of the Tribos Micro - Mini extensions works upon the elastic restoring forces of the toolholder steel to securely and quickly clamp cutting tools.
The clamping process can be completed within seconds by means of a hydraulic clamping device - no heat is required.
The Schunk SVP-2 manual clamping or the SVP-3 automatic clamping devices are both available with the corresponding reduction inserts.
The run-out accuracy and repeatability of the toolholder system is better than 3 microns.
Utilising the rotational symmetric design, a basic counter balance of less than 4g/mm is guaranteed.
The Micro - Mini range offer all the benefits of the existing Tribos toolholding family.
Since the Tribos system has no movable components, it is absolutely maintenance free and the user will appreciate the long tool life.
The long tool life, exceptional accuracy and outstanding rigidity make the Schunk Micro - Mini range ideal for the micro metal cutting industries such as the watch-making, electrode countersinking or the printed circuit board sectors. Request a free brochure from Schunk Intec ...
