Compact grippers can now have long fingers
Grippers are equipped with a precise multi-tooth guidance, while forces and moments of the gripper are spread over several surfaces of a multiple-tooth guide, enabling longer fingers.
'Collet jaw' chucks offer greater versatility
A 'collet jaw' chuck is more universal than either three-jaw chucks or collets and covers a greater diameter range than conventional collets thus increasing flexibility and cost effectiveness.
Zero-point clamping system reduces work resetting
Universal zero-point clamping system that provides accurate and repeatable set-ups of workholding fixtures allows workpieces to be moved through multiple operations with minimum resetting.
This development can be used for installing a camera or for feeding or gripping over length workpieces.
This new gripper can revolutionize and simplify operations for manufacturers in a wide variety of industries.
Yet another innovation from Schunk, the grippers are equipped with a centre bore that makes them ideal for such specialist tasks.
With four sizes from 64 to 125mm, the PGB series is suitable for a broad spectrum of jobs.
The centre bore has a diameter ranging from 10 to 24mm depending upon the version and the stroke ranges from 4 to 10mm per jaw with a maximum gripping force from between 110 and 640 Newton's.
Just like the tried, tested and exceptionally successful PGN-plus grippers, the PGB drive consists of an oval piston that generates its force using a wedge-hook transmission.
Utilising the multi-tooth guide, another Schunk development the base jaws are guided without play and with maximum stability and rigidity.
The PGB can be attached on two sides in three screw-on directions and can be monitored both inductively and with solenoid switches.
The major benefit of this system beside the hole for exceptional flexibility is the capability to use numerous optional extras and accessories from the PGN-plus and PZN-plus series.
Like the PGN-plus and PZN-plus, the PGB will be compatible with the FPS and APS stroke measuring systems, the FMS force measuring system and the ABR and SBR base jaws.
