Tool and work holding equipment manufacturer, Schunk Intec, has reported invoiced sales up by 27% by Q3 2007, and is exapnding operations in the UK.

Schunk Intec has reported that its invoiced sales for tool and work holding equipment were up by around 27% during the period January-October 2007, compared with 2006, which again was up some 35% over 2005 Schunk has now employed an additional area manager in the South East to increase the external sales team from four to five

This investment in staff, not only enables it to comfortably expand its services and sales in the UK, said Schunk to manufacturingtalk, but is part of a global drive to grow on a global scale.

The company is continuing to grow through aggressive programme of growth by acquisition.

In 2007 Schunk Intec entered into a strategic partnership with Vision and Control, a leading industrial image processing manufacturer.

Schunk and Vision and Control negotiated a strategic partnership where Schunk acquired a 28% share of Vision and Control.

* New products - during 2007 Schunk launched more products, as demonstrated at the EMO 2007 exhibition, At Hannover, germany, the company introduced 30 products for toolholding and workholding, lathe chuck and stationary clamping operations.

Attractive product launches in 2007 included the following.

* The TRISet optical tool presetting system.

* Variants of the Tendo range of hydraulic expansion toolholders and Quentes fiberglass jaws.

* The ROTA NCS sealed six-jaw power chuck.

* The Tandem KSP plus clamping force blocks.

* The Unilock NSA SF Quick-Change Pallet Module.

The highly accurate new TRISet optical tool presetting and measuring device now enables users to measure, check and adjust tools before using them.

Schunk told manufacturingtalk that it is suitable for all conventional tool clamping systems.

Then, as an additional bonus, the Schunk Tribos clamping device can be integrated as an option to enable Tribos tools to be length set, clamped and measured in seconds.

Other products launched in 2007 included an extension to the Tendo range of hydraulic expansion toolholders - the new Tendo-ES extremely short expansion toolholders.

The Tendo-ES clamps the cutting tool directly in the mounting taper and sees the tool supported via the spindle, giving the end user additional space in the machining area.

With an L1 dimension of 26mm, the Tendo-ES is extremely short and this results in exceptional rigidity and the highest holding forces for transferable high torques.

For manufacturers operating turning machines, Schunk launched a number of developments for the lathe.

This included the ROTA NCS sealed six-jaw power chuck.

It has an active pull-down force distributed on six jaws and gives the highest axial run-out accuracy available for precision turning.

Other lathe related products launched in 2007 include new variants of the Quentes fiberglass jaws for clamping already finish machined surfaces.

The Quentes guarantees a secure hold on the component whilst ensuring the finished surface is not damaged by the chuck jaws.

As the elements of the Quentes are replaceable, the chuck solution becomes very economical.

For clamping stationary parts, Schunk presented the new Tandem KSP plus clamping force blocks.

The base jaws of the Tandem KSP has multi-tooth long jaw guidance that deliver exact centering via the clamping sleeves, which considerably reduce jaw lifting.

This enables the Tandem KSP plus to achieve a repeat accuracy of up to 0.01mm for precise machining results. Request free introductory details about products from Schunk Intec ...
