New proximity switch for mechanical handling
Siemens Automation and Drives is extending its family of Opto-BERO 3RG7 proximity switches to include a new optical sensor, which has been specifically designed for the mechanical handling market.
Thanks to the uniform automation structure, service and maintenance costs are also significantly reduced.
Siemens is offering two basic packages for horizontal tubular bag machines, one for standard machines and one for high-speed machines.
In both cases, the hardware contains all essential components, such as controller, drives (infeed and power section), power supply, I/O, bus connector and operator panel.
The Simotion D motion control system regulates the common programming of PLC and motion control in one unit.
The required runtime licenses are included with each package.
The software package is modular and open in order to simplify the automation of different kinds of machines.
Functions such as cross-sealing, sheet feed or temperature control can be implemented with the aid of the software library provided with the package.
The package also contains a standard configuration for the operator panel which covers screen forms for standard tasks such as inching, temperature control or diagnostics.
