UK grinding machine training re-established

A Koerber Schleifring UK product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 10, 2006

The transfer of the UK Walter machine operation from Redditch to Honiley has given Koerber Schleifring UK the opportunity to re-establish dedicated machine training and demonstration areas.

With a team of service and applications engineers totally dedicated to UK Walter machine users, Neil Whittingham, sales director of Koerber Schleifring UK of Honiley near Kenilworth, certainly appreciates that prompt customer service is equally as important to users as cost-effective machines.

"We know that customers simply cannot afford to have any machine on unscheduled downtime - very often our Helitronic tool grinders, Helicheck/Toolcheck tool measuring machines or Woodtronic saw blade grinders are at the heart of their businesses, and they wholly depend on them." Whittingham continued: ''So, we have to make sure that any downtime is minimised, and the only way to do that is to have a team that is focused on the UK/Ireland customer base and targeted for quick response.

This is in stark contrast to operations that are also responsible for machine servicing and applications in other countries; they simply do not have the resource to adequately respond to local requests.'' The transfer of the Walter machine operation from Redditch to Honiley this year has given Koerber Schleifring UK the opportunity to not only re-establish its sales and service commitment to the extensive Walter machine UK user base, but also to re-establish dedicated machine training and demonstration areas at the new site.
