600 Group is confidently developing its German distribution operation, Parat, which foresees a turnover increase for Harrison CNC lathes during 2003.

600 Group is confidently developing its German distribution operation, Parat, in support of the Group's European commercial expansion programme Stuttgart-based Parat has recently moved into new, purpose-built premises to showcase its extensive machine tool range alongside new conference facilities which will offer the opportunity to hold training and media events

Headed by newly appointed Managing Director, Robert Tichauer, Parat is responsible for the distribution of the 600 Group's Harrison lathe brand, particularly the Alpha range of manual/CNC lathes including the powerful and sophisticated Alpha 330U, its own-brand Quick Change Turret Tool Post, Geka steel workers and imported Fidia high-speed milling centres from Italy.

Tichauer explains: "Parat will use many routes to end-up at the same destination - that of securing a greater market share for all our product lines, but specifically the Harrison lathe range which already has a great reputation for performance and reliability.

Parat is a lean, efficient and highly profitable organisation and even though this year has seen a difficult economic climate, I am confident of achieving a significant increase in turnover." 600 Group Chief Executive, Tony Sweeten, comments: "600 Group is the largest machine tool company in the UK and boasts the largest overseas machine tool operation.

Recent achievements have helped to reaffirm 600 Group's prominence within the machine tool market and our long and prestigious history has established 600 Group as a truly global machine tool force.

We are now looking with certainty towards the rejuvenation of the machine tool market and one of our strategies is to achieve greater penetration in Europe with increased brand presence and market share.".
