Additions to CNC lathe programmes, more VMCs, developments in laser marking and extended ranges of innovative work holding tooling set the scene for UK machine tool group's largest stand yet.

For the MACH 2004 exhibition at NEC Birmingham, British-based 600 Group assembles possibly the largest showcase of machine tool technology ever seen at a UK exhibition in terms of new products to market, total number of exhibits and their range of application 600 Group's main stand in Hall 5 (Stand 5106), is one of the largest of any MACH exhibitor and provides a fitting platform for lathe makers Harrison and Colchester to demonstrate the very latest developments in CNC, manual/CNC and centre lathe technology

Harrison showcases three examples from its world-beating 'Alpha' ranges of CNC/manual and electronic lathes as well as a lathe from its classic 'V' Series.

These are an Alpha 1550S x 2m manual/CNC lathe; Alpha 1330U manual/CNC lathe; an Alpha 400T electronic lathe and a variable speed V390 manual lathe.

Alongside and complementing the precision engineered products of Harrison, Colchester shows off its brand new range of Tornado four-axis CNC lathes and the latest models from the Multiturn range.

On the same stand, 600 Centre exhibits its exciting and varied portfolio of machine tools - which will include the launch of the new Richmond VMC 600 vertical machining centre - while Electrox launches three new models in its 'Cobra' laser marking range.

In introducing the Cobra E, Cobra II and Cobra II plus - Electrox now offers one of the widest and most versatile ranges of laser marking systems around.

Complementing this vast and diverse selection of machine tools, Gamet Bearings has on show its world-class range of bearings and accessories, which, following a period of sustained growth, benefit from a recent investment in a new grinding cell.

The cell has increased capacity, improved bearing accuracy, reduced costs and improved both process consistency and customer satisfaction.

In Hall 4 on Stand 4202, 600 Group dedicates the area to workholding excellence with Crawford Collets and Pratt Burnerd International demonstrating the very latest workholding innovations.

These include the 'Multibore' collet chuck from Crawford Collets and the geared version of the Programmable Power Chuck from Pratt Burnerd.

Also in Hall 4 on Stand 4909, Electrox complements its Hall 5 exhibits with yet more cost-effective laser marking, cutting and welding products.

Complementing its vast array of machine tool technology, 600 Finance is on hand throughout the MACH show to demonstrate that new machine tools really are affordable through its new Smart Finance package.

600 Group's Product Strategy and Marketing Director Dr Stephen LeBeau comments: "MACH 2004 presents 600 Group with the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our technological expertise and world class manufacturing solutions to a truly global stage.

This demonstrates real 'cutting edge' manufacturing and cost performance across an extremely wide range of machine tool applications.

I am certain MACH 2004 will be a truly memorable experience for all who come along and see these exhibits." MACH 2004 - NEC, Birmingham, UK - April 19 - 23, Stands 5106, 4909 and 4202.
