UK CNC machine tool group opens Chinese
office
The UK's 600 Group - builder and distributor of CNC machine tools - is opening an office in China, responsible for promoting sales throughout the substantial Far Eastern market.

It will be headed by Alan Wiseman, general manager and director of Colchester-based 600 Machinery International and will both continue and cultivate the Group's current activities in the area.
Chief executive of 600 Group, Andrew Dick, said: "This is a natural move for the Group.
We have a history of developing our overseas markets and then establishing a local base from which to serve the customer.
The Group already has companies in the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Eastern Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
The Far Eastern market is now an important customer and supplier base for us, so it was obvious that we should establish an office there." Wiseman, who will be chief representative at the 600 Group China office, has worked for 600 Group for the last thirty years.
Since 1990 he has been General Manager/Director of 600 Machinery International, which is responsible for the sale of 600 Group products throughout the world where no 600 Group company exists.
As such he has travelled the world on behalf of the Group, establishing distributorships as well as developing, promoting and supporting sales.
He has been working in China since 1986 to enhance the sale of 600 Group machine tools to Chinese engineering companies.
Wiseman said: "In fulfilling my role within 600 Machinery International it became obvious that a full time presence was necessary and a formal representative office was the correct way to create this.
Based at Dalian, I will be able to maintain a high level of contact with our Chinese partners, our customers and our suppliers.
This will enable the Group to enhance the partnership arrangements already in place and to build 'face' in China and the Far East.
I am looking forward to the challenge and am confident that this will be a great success for the Group as other similar enterprises have been in the past.".
