Following nine years in the key position of sales director, former Danobat manmaging director, Ray Grocock, has been promoted to director/general manager of 600 Centre Promoted to director/general manager of 600 Centre following nine years in the key position of sales director, Ray Grocock brings to his new job previous experience of managing directorship at Danobat UK and a working life of involvement with the grinding industry across all aspects of the technology

Said 600 Group chief executive Tony Sweeten: "The 600 Centre plays an important role in Group activities for sourcing imported machine tools and then adding value by providing turnkey and application engineering support to customers in production and mould and die sectors".

"Being a solution provider adds to the profitability of the business and it is here that Ray Grocock's experience will help secure and maintain this capability in the future." Following the appointment Grocock said: "600 Centre will continue to develop added value solutions involving turnkey engineering projects around standard and well-proven CNC machine tools sourced from world-leading international suppliers".

"We have the team of people and resource in place at 600 Centre to provide the level of application engineering expertise to give the customer the capability to earn a strong return on the investment made".

"That element of customer support is critical to continue to move our company forward." Ray first joined 600 Centre in 1994 as product manager grinding machines before being promoted to sales director covering the Shepshed, Loughborough based sales and marketing operations for a range of international top names such as Fanuc, Toyoda, Mitsui-Seiki, Joemars, Okamoto, Richmond and Perfect.

During this period he motivated the move of the business from a stand-alone machine tool supplier to becoming a key player in UK for turnkey application engineering solutions across milling, grinding and electro-discharge machining.

He was also responsible for the setting up of the annual Productivity Partnerships exhibition at 600 Centre now in its 11th year.

In November the event will involve 23 of the UK's leading suppliers to the production sector.

As Grocock outlines, 600 Centre has created high productivity based turnkey cells and systems worth up to GBP 2.5 million as well as selling stand-alone machines.

The cells and systems have involved extensive application engineering, automation, process problem solving and even on-site civil work as part of total turnkey engineering projects across aerospace, automotive, bearing, medical and even jewellery sectors".

""It is the way a company responds with service and support that differentiates suppliers of CNC equipment today to ensure repeat business".

"That is an important strength of 600 Centre," he says.
