Within three months of installation a Fanuc Robodrill, Raytheon Marine Company based in Portsmouth calculated savings of GBP6,000 on components it produced due to faster set ups.
Wire EDM machine uprated to cut quicker
Fanuc has extended the capacity, specification and performance of its Robocut Alpha-1iA wire cut electro discharge machine (EDM) to provide high accuracy performance cutting at up to 300mm2/min.
The first generation of fine wire and super finishing EDM will be shown in the Robocut Alpha-OiCp which uses linear drive technology, a new wire feed system and special software to integrate nano interpolation and is available at under GBP 100,000.
The new machine is able to produce a surface finish of 0.4 micron using 0.05 mm to 0.3mm diameter wire and cut at a rate up to 360mm2/min.
Adding to the EDM product range available from 600 Centre is the new Joemars JM32 Z vertical sink machine with anti-arcing, auto-adjustment and latest developments in Fuzzy Logic requiring only the input of material, peak current, electrode size and wear parameters.
From Richmond, which launched a complete new range of vertical machining centres in November 2005, there will be under power the VMC 1020 linear way version with 10,000 rev/min spindle, the popular Anilam 6000M control and twin-arm toolchanger.
This high specification heavier duty machine range, that is available with linear or solid way construction, provides a solution for a wide variety of component machining at a very competitive price.
Representing the high end of the market and 600 Centre's turnkey capability will be the Toyoda Mitsui HU63A horizontal machining centre.
This machine will demonstrate its ability to machine to very close tolerances using its high power drives on materials as diverse as aluminium, steel and hardened materials.
The HU63A has a wide range of spindle options dedicated for specific customer applications from high torque 6,000 revs/min to high speed 20,000 rev/min.
A positional accuracy capability using glass scale technology is +1 micron over the full axis strokes of 900mm by 800mm by 800mm.
