Verity has won several prestigious industry awards and was last year licensed exclusively to Safe Technology to create an add-on module in fe-safe for weld fatigue life prediction (Verity in fe-safe).
John Draper will give an overview of the method and show its advantages in terms of accuracy and ease of application.
This course provides a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about the most powerful structural stress method developed to date for fatigue evaluation of welded structures.
Durability by Design - An introduction to fe-safe and Verity in fe-safe will be held on Monday April 23 in Ohio, USA.
The course covers the problems that can now be solved using durability analysis software for FEA models.
A technology update in key areas of fatigue analysis is provided: multiaxial fatigue, effects of temperature, notch sensitivity and residual stresses; Why traditional methods of metal fatigue analysis get it wrong; An introduction to modern methods of metal fatigue analysis and why they get it right; An introduction to Verity; An introduction to using fe-safe and the Verity module with FEA software; A demo of fe-safe and Verity in fe-safe.
Modern Methods of Metal Fatigue Analysis Theory will be held between Tuesday 24th - Thursday 26th April in Ohio, USA.
The course offers an introduction to modern theories of metal fatigue and their practical application through worked examples and interaction/discussion.
There is a strong emphasis on what is possible and the pitfalls to avoid.
A professional volume of course notes forms a self-contained reference book.
Content: Introduction to fatigue; local stress-strain fatigue; materials data; signal analysis for fatigue; using stress-life data; examples of fatigue failures and fatigue tests; geometric effects; fatigue analysis in practice; introduction to biaxial fatigue; biaxial fatigue using equivalent stress/strain; critical plane analysis; fatigue lives from finite element models; statistics and reliability; crack growth analysis; fatigue lives from the PSD; fatigue test and design; fatigue of welded structures; additional advanced topics.
Who should attend: Design and Test Engineers responsible for product durability in the ground vehicle, aerospace and manufacturing industries interested in durability analysis and fatigue of welded structures.
No previous knowledge of fatigue is necessary.
