Circular carbide saws slice up steel
billets
Saws UK has introduced its Alligator CS range of circular carbide saws, one of which is claimed to effortlessly cut through 90mm diameter steel bar in little over 10s.
Claimed by Saws UK to outperform three bandsaws in terms of productivity, the Alligator CS range of circular carbide saws offer shorter cycle times, For example, the Alligator CS 100 Circular Saw will effortlessly cut through 90mm diameter steel bar in just over 10s The ability to cut steel at such high productivity rates is owed to the ruggedness of the sawing head chassis manufactured from high strength cast iron

Bandsaw pulls-pushes blades to better cutting
In a bandsaw drive, the system pushes as well as pulls the bandsaw blade, so it adds more cutting power as well as extending saw blade life, reducing noise and increasing productivity.
Dual drive saw raises productivity 100% and more
What took an offshore equipment manufacturer's existing saw to cut in 2h, a dual drive band saw now cuts in under 40 min and has raised productivity by 100-200% in some cases.
Saws UK said it enables low vibration cutting and exceptional surface finishes.
The reduced vibration also reduces noise and improves cutting accuracy.
For example, the Alligator CS Circular Saws have an accuracy level of 0.05mm.

Circular sawing machines are high quality
High quality circular sawing machines, said to be ideal for cutting aluminium and UPVC, include pull down and semi automatic saws and automated sawing systems.
Travelling column VMC has dual-pallet indexing
Vertical machining centre with a travelling column design and integrated rotary dual-pallet indexing system provides higher levels of productivity and output and efficient workpiece loading/unloading.
Saws UK told manufacturingtalk that such a capability allows the end user to reduce the secondary processing operations and reduce material costs.
* Modern drive concept - a ball screw drive gives an even saw feed that is infinitely variable.
The construction, with the optimal arrangement of the centre of gravity under the rocker arm further prevents vibration, said Saws UK.
The company added that these factors optimise profitability.
A high specification PLC components work in conjunction with a servo assisted control unit that guarantees a continuous exchange of signals.
The PLC system enhances cutting times and improves user friendliness, allowing cutting programmes to be entered on-line.
The combination of the ball screw drive, hydraulic material gripper and servo drive permits the 0.05mm tolerance levels.
Variable speeds simplify the linkage with subsequent production processes, while cutting programs permit the variable feed of semi finished parts, bale loaders, diagonal or chain magazines for resolving short non-productive times.
* Four sizes - the Alligator CS range of Circular Saws is offered in four size ranges.
The CS-65, CS-85, CS-100 and CS-130 that can cut round bar in diameter sizes from 65mm, 85mm, 100mm and 130mm respectively.
All options offer TCT Carbide or HSS blades, so the rotation speeds range from 18-200 rev/min, 12-180 rev/min and 18-180 rev/min for the four saws.
The saws have a chip conveyor that is an auger type on the DC65 and belt driven on the larger three saws.
* Automatic loading - included are an auto loading magazine and lubricating device with pressure control, chip conveyor, tools and the sorting of initial crop and rest piece as standard accessories.
The range has optional accessories that include the following.
* End finishing, * Bundle loader.
* Remote maintenance.
* Weighing systems.
* Length measuring.
* Chain magazines.
* Rest piece (offcut) utilisation.
