laser sensor distribution deal for UK

Sigmavision and LMI Technologies have signed an agreement whereby Sigmavision provide distribution and support in the UK for LMI's range of laser sensors targeted at rubber and tyre industries.
Sigmavision and Gothenburg based LMI Technologies have signed an agreement whereby Sigmavision provide distribution and support in the UK for LMI's range of laser sensors targeted at rubber processing and tyre construction, glass and industrial ceramics, aluminium casting and aerospace industries In the manufacture of rubber profiles and for tyre construction a range of sensors is available for ply width, thickness and profile measurement and for detecting surface defects

Aerospace applications such as wing stiffener and stringer profiling and automated fuselage drilling and riveting are well suited to laser sensors in that part dimensions and 3D position and orientation may be measured quickly and accurately using static inspection stations or sensors mounted on industrial robots.
LMI's core technology is to incorporate advanced optical triangulation, using position sensitive detector (PSD) and charged couple device (CCD) technology, into compact and rugged housings.
With resolutions as fine as 5?m, measurement rates of 500KHz and direct connectivity to a PC or PLC without the need for an additional controller, LMI's sensors provide fast and reliable measurements on a wide range of materials, including molten and shiny surfaces, even in hot, smoky and steamy environments.
